A fire can be muffled with the use of various materials such as sand, earth, water vapor, special gases, among others. Of these materials, sand is the most economical and ecological extinguishing agent. It is a fire extinguishing method that consists of reducing or preventing contact of oxygen with the burning material. That way, if there is no oxidizer to react with the fuel there will be no fire. The decrease in oxygen in contact with the fuel makes combustion slower and slower until its extinction.
